About this winery
Thomas Reynolds, an English seaman and merchant, arrived in Portugal in 1820, attracted by the potential of the wine trade. He settled in the northern town of Porto with his two sons, Thomas and Robert, and from there they supplied their London store with a variety of products from the Iberian Peninsula. In 1838, they became involved in the cork industry and set up a factory for the manufacture of cork stoppers in Alburquerque (Spain), where they lived for eleven years. It was a profitable...

Product notes
Terroir: Granitic soils and related rocks, poor in organic matter. The vineyard is located at the top of Monte Figueira de Cima, at an altitude of 400m. With climatic influence of the Serra de São Mamede, it has excellent conditions of drainage and sun exposure.
Production notes
Certified integrated production. Several selective sizes to reduce the harvest. Night harvest. Each variety is harvested separately. Individual fermentation, by gravity and without pressing of the crisp berries, in French oak vats at controlled temperature, slowly with indigenous yeasts. Malolactic fermentation in French oak vats. Aging 6 months. The process is carried out in the estate's wine cellar.
Tasting notes
Deep ruby colour. On the nose it has an intense aroma of fresh fruits (dark and red) with a slight hint of mint and spice. On the palate it shows the dark and red fruit combination, black cherry, blueberry, black plum, a polished but firm tannin and remarkable freshness, combined with a gentle mint finish.
