About this winery

La Val in Rías Baixas is CVNE’s latest acquisition. La Val was founded in 1985 and is a historic winery in the Rías Baixas region. She was one of the pioneers in the winemaking of the Albariño grape variety and the instigator of the creation of the Rías Baixas appellation in 1988. La Val only produces wines from its own vineyards. Currently, La Val has more than 222 acres, or 90 hectares of vines.

Spectacular alluvial soil where the Miño River has deposited layers of minerals. Deep soil with higher than normal clay levels and gives it great resilience in the face of stressful situations.

Manual harvest in 20 kg boxes. Skin maceration of the grapes at 10ºC for 4 hours. 10% of the wine ferments in 500 liter French barrels.

Tasting notes

Lemon yellow with greenish edges. Complex and intense nose of herbs and fruits (fennel, bay leaf, apple), fresh notes of citrus and marked mineral aromas (quartz, flint). Good structure marked by powerful acidity. Harmonious, keeps the character. Pairings with fish and shellfish
