About this winery
Founded in 1987 by Jean-Paul and Minna, Domaine VILLA MINNA is a family winery located between Aix-en-Provence and Salon-de-Provence. A former rally driver, Jean-Paul decides to settle with his Finnish wife on his grandfather's land, which was fallow at the time. After several years of preparing the soil, they replanted quality grape varieties and in 1999 marketed their first wine, a red MINNA, which quickly obtained recognition with a star in the Hachette Guide. Production notes
The white winemaking is done in barrels and small-volume stainless steel vats, grape variety by grape variety, exclusively using indigenous yeasts present in the grape berries. We then allow malolactic fermentation to take place naturally; which allows our wines to be almost sulphur-free. The aging is done in small-volume stainless steel vats for 70% of the vintage and in barrels on fine lees with stirring in an underground cellar protected from temperature variations for 30% of the vintage. This method, which preserves the freshness of the aromas, produces a wine of great aromatic complexity. The blending of the grape varieties is carried out in such a way as to obtain a harmonious and balanced wine. Then comes the bottling, which is done at the estate, followed by aging in bottles for between 12 and 24 months.
Tasting notes
Minna Blanc, a great wine from the South that proudly asserts its origins. It presents a great aromatic complexity and a beautiful freshness, offering a generous palette where notes of citrus and fresh fruits mingle. On the palate, its round texture is sublimated by a slightly mineral touch, revealing a structured body, a beautiful intensity and a long persistence. An exceptional white, balanced and expressive, to be savored without delay.
