The history of Parusso family has evolved, from a family of farmers to a family of vintners, always taking the advice and values parents gave. Located in the heart of the Barolo district where the two types of soils, Tortonian and Elvezian, have formed hills which mingle and blend together in a perfect union. Limestone, clay, marl and sand give a rich soil characterized by an incredible diversity. Fifth generation Parusso family manages 28 hectares of vineyards in the municipalities of Monforte d'Alba and Castiglione Falletto. For Parusso family, the respect of territory and nature is fundamental. Minimal intervention in the cellar, with the concept that much of the winemaking process takes place in the vineyard. Later harvest times and meticulous attention to detail in producing the best grapes, long macerations followed by fermentations that occur naturally in the presence of indigenous yeasts. Ageing in small oak barrels in contact with the lees for an extended period. These two fundamental concepts - later harvest time and extended aging on the lees - are what help to contribute to the signature style of Parusso wines and a complete expression of the terroir of Piedmont.
