About this winery

Founded in 1987 by Jean-Paul and Minna, Domaine VILLA MINNA is a family winery located between Aix-en-Provence and Salon-de-Provence. A former rally driver, Jean-Paul decides to settle with his Finnish wife on his grandfather's land, which was fallow at the time. Production notes

The vinification is done in small volume stainless steel vats exclusively from the indigenous yeasts present on the grape berries. The active fermentation phase starts after a few days of maceration, we then carry out daily pumping over. A long maceration is then carried out in order to extract the phenolic compounds followed by pressing and barreling in barrels grape variety by grape variety. The aging, in an underground cellar protected from temperature variations, is carried out in barrels on fine lees with stirring for 24 months. This method preserves the freshness of the aromas and gives a great aromatic complexity and a naturally clear wine that does not need fining. The blending of the grape varieties is carried out in such a way as to obtain a harmonious and balanced wine. Then follows the bottling, which is done at the estate, followed by aging in bottles for 36 months.

Tasting notes

With an intense cherry color with raspberry highlights, this wine reveals a powerful and captivating nose, where aromas of blackcurrant, ripe red fruits, spices and a subtle touch of black pepper blend harmoniously. On the palate, it seduces with its elegance and richness, offering a fleshy texture supported by tannins of great finesse, both firm and precise. Its remarkable structure is accompanied by a beautiful intensity and a long and tasty persistence.
